Beautiful Queensland

Sorry for the break between posts but I am back now from Cairns which is in the far north of Queensland. Up in the tropics. I've spent a gorgeous week enjoying the heat, the rain the beach and the flora and fauna. Queensland is no doubt about it a really beautiful state in our country.

Every day in the afternoon it rained, which was quite fine for us Melbournians becauses here at
home we never see rain it seems.

We went hot air ballooning over the Atherton Tablelands at 6.30 am from 1000 feet and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, where we swam with green turtles and manta rays and heeps of beautiful little fish. I visited the botanical gardens and just took in the greenery and relaxed. It was really lovely. Here are some pics we took ....enjoy.

  1. Serena, is the Dingo a domestic dog or a wild dog? Is it an Australian native? Must have been quite a sight from that hot air balloon! Also, I always like to see the Roos! Australia is such a diverse place. Unbelievable.

  2. The Dingo is a wild dog but has been domesticated by the Aboriginal people . It is a beautiful dog.

  3. Hi Serena

Oh for the tropics. I bet the odd downpour wasn't a problem, it's all part of it.

Beautiful photos. The giant lily pads are great aren't they.

That hot air balloon trip must have been phenomenal!
