I wasnt getting home from work on Friday night at about 6.45 and pulled into the driveway turne off the car and opened the door. As I got my stuff together to go inside I become aware of a beautiful sweet perfume in the air. Kind of like bubble gum. But not synthetic.
It was quite lovely!
Michellia makes a great screening plant, a beautiful perfumed hedge (if not trimmed too regularly) and just a nice addition to any garden.
It ' reasonably drought tolerant once established and easy to maintain, loving full sun and well draining sandy loam with moderate amounts of organic matter. It will also do well with azaleas, and rhododendrons, camellias.

As usual please feel free to leave comments or ask questions.
Hi Serena
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty. Sadly magnolias don't do too well in my imediate vicinty. The PH is too sweet for them here in limestone country.
