Recently I inherited a Bread making machine from a friend of mine and have been having a go at it. It does all sorts of amazing things but I must admit to being of two minds about it. On one hand its a great machine because you just pile all the ingredients in
set and forget until it beeps a couple of hours later and bingo .......!
Yum.
Anyway I digress. I like the idea but have yet to learn how to use it properly and have reservation about the aluminium pan. Its also kind of difficult to get the loaf of bread out. But I must admit the smell is wonderful. It also makes jam but i have yet to try it, what i would like to try is mixing and rising the dough in the bread maker and making rolls, or pizza dough and of course jam.
So I will persevere and try out some of the recipes in the book. The first few loaves have been rather yummy but it does tend to over bake and end up with a very thick and bitter crust if you set the crust setting higher than light.
Any comments about readers experiences with bread making machines will be read with interest so please leave a comment . I will discuss bread making further.
