A Freak in the Rosegarden

At the moment the roses in the garden are having their last burst of colour before they settle down for a rest over winter. Our "Abraham Lincolns'" are glorious and other roses still have buds all over them. I have a beautiful magenta bush rose  with muti-petalled blooms that are glorious but right now one of them has done something very strange. I was out there this morning deadheading the roses and picking some of the blooms when i discovered this. Its a rose bloom with the stem growing through the flower and out the top and another rose bud on top . I have never seen anything like this before.

Its a little unsettling i must say and perhaps a little well.......weird. If any readers have seen anything like this before i really would appreciate some feed back, as to why this might have happened....... I have no idea! Feedback would really be appreciated!
